Key to agricultural growth in Zimbabwe is a policy and institutional environment that fosters private investment in the food and agricultural value chains, encourages technology adoption by farmers, and attracts labour into agriculture. In this regard, the LFSP’s work is premised on the principle of creating a balance between evidence generation and engagement and a three-pronged approach to policy-level work as follows:
- Sharing information, i.e. making key stakeholders aware of evidence with a view to understanding key policy issues for dialogue.
- Strengthening capacity of partners and key government arms in policy research, analysis and outreach.
- Advocating for evidence-based policy formulation through strategic influence of public opinion on specific issues.
